MENGO: The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Abubakar Lawal, a talented player from Vipers SC, who tragically lost his life in an accident on Monday, 24th February 2025.
Lawal’s immense contribution to Ugandan football will never be forgotten, particularly his pivotal role in Vipers SC’s historic league and Uganda Cup domestic double triumph in the 2022/23 season.
His exceptional talent and dedication made him one of the most outstanding foreign players to have graced Ugandan football.
On behalf of FUFA, its members, delegates and secretariat, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Abubakar’s family, Vipers SC President Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa, Nigeria Football Federation, friends, relatives and the entire football fraternity.
May the Almighty provide strength and comfort to those grieving during this difficult time.
