An officer in charge Criminal Investigations at the Central Police Station (CPS), Kakumiro has been fired on orders of Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja.
According to a message dated 2/8/2021, D/Asp Nyaitara Allen was dropped and recalled back to CID headquarters Kibuli. The same message moved D/ASP Karakya Hollieta from Bukwo to Kakumiro as new OC CID.
“Treat as urgent,” the message to DPCs of Bukwo and Kakumiro, RPCs of Albertine and Siipi, CID Director and IGP, ordered.
Whereas the message does not reveal the reason for Nyaitara’s sacking, well-placed sources say a section of Kakumiro residents had complained to Prime Minister Nabbanja. Nabbanja is the woman Member of Parliament for Kakumiro and has been very active in fighting corrupt officers in public offices.
As a result of the complaint, sources say a very active Nabbanja phoned the IGP Martins Okoth Ochola, who, sources told us, ordered CID headquarters to swing the knife.
It is then that Nyaitara was fired and replaced by Karakya.
